Sprint CEO Hesse to speak at Fort Leonard Wood next month
Sprint Corp. chief executive officer Dan Hesse will speak July 8 on “Leading an Organization Through Change” at Fort Leonard Wood in south central Missouri.
Hesse became Sprint’s CEO in late 2007 and has led its recovery from a difficult merger with Nextel Partners. He also was instrumental in last summer’s deal in which Tokyo-based SoftBank Corp. acquired 80 percent of the Overland Park-based wireless phone company.
Sprint is in the midst of a major upgrade and expansion of its wireless network and is expected to seek a merger with rival T-Mobile US Inc., possibly next month.
Hesse’s address is part of the U.S. Army Engineer School regimental guest speaker program. It begins at noon at the Lincoln Hall Auditorium in building 3201 on the base. The public is invited to the free event. Entry through the base’s main gait requires a personal ID.
