KU Hospital opens rehab facility

A new, 29-room, in-patient acute rehabilitation facility will open Tuesday in a new building near the University of Kansas Hospital.

The care center, west of the main hospital campus on Rainbow Boulevard and 39th Street, is located on the second level of a new four-story building. Entrance is through the west-side lobby on the first floor; parking is adjacent to the building.

The new facility, staffed by about 90 health care professionals, includes a rehabilitation gym, therapeutic kitchen facilities, patient dining area, multipurpose room, staff break room, a family lounge and a transitional apartment for patients and their caregivers to practice independent living skills.
