Mark Jorgenson, U.S. Bank’s market president in Kansas City, has been appointed head of the company’s community banking operation that covers 25 states.

Jorgenson, who will remain based in Kansas City, will oversee 1,140 branch offices and about 10,000 employees outside larger metropolitan areas, the company said.

Jorgenson has been with U.S. Bank and its predecessor companies since 1981.
