Hallmark Cards Inc., the majority owner of Crown Media Holdings Inc., has announced that the Hallmark Channel will become “producer and home” for Hallmark Hall of Fame shows.
Hallmark previously contracted out for production of the long-running series of special programs, but Crown Media, which has its own production unit, will assume production in house.
Hallmark will continue to sponsor the series and be involved in the creative process and script approval.
The Hall of Fame series, which made its debut in 1951, previously was televised under contracts with ABC and CBS. It moved to cable TV’s Hallmark Channel last year.
