IRS auction in Overland Park to feature rock ’n’ roll memorabilia
The Internal Revenue Service has amassed more than 120 pieces of rock ’n’ roll memorabilia that will be for sale at a Feb. 25 auction in Overland Park.
Items seized for nonpayment of taxes include an autographed motorcycle helmet from the “Easy Rider” movie; guitars autographed by musicians; autographed photos of Johnny Cash and Pearl Jam; and a jacket worn by actor Brandon Lee when he was accidentally killed in 1993 while making the movie “The Crow.”
Other items include a Jimi Hendrix-autographed album, a Joe Walsh autographed guitar, a Led Zeppelin autographed record, Nirvana items, a Nikki Sixx guitar, and a pair of Stevie Ray Vaughn's shoes.
The items can be previewed from 2 to 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at the auction site, the DoubleTree Hotel at 10100 College Blvd.
The items can also be previewed the day of the auction from 9 to 11 a.m.
