Visit KC has tapped another Kansas City company, MMGY Global, to be its marketing agency of record.

Visit KC, the former Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association, is a nonprofit economic development organization that promotes the area’s tourism and convention business. MMGY Global, founded in Kansas City in 1981, has become a global travel marketing company with other offices in New York, Madrid and Orlando, Fla.

The two organizations, which have worked together before, did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. MMGY Global designed and launched VisitKC.com in fall 2014.

MMGY said in announcing the current partnership that it will “work with Visit KC to develop integrated marketing programs that support growth of the convention and meetings market as well as drive in-bound tourism to the entire Kansas City metropolitan area.”

That campaign will be previewed March 23 at Visit KC’s annual meeting.

In the announcement, MMGY executive vice president Katie Briscoe said, “The chance for us to represent our hometown, especially in the midst of such powerful community momentum, is thrilling for our team. This is a special time in Kansas City, and we take the responsibility of telling our destination’s story very seriously.”
