Ford F-150 named Truck Trend magazine’s top pickup of the year
Ford Motor Co.’s new F-150 pickup was named Truck Trend magazine’s 2015 Pickup Truck of the Year.
The aluminum-body truck, which will be built at Ford’s Claycomo assembly plant here later this year, was recognized by the magazine for its fuel efficiency, design, performance and capability.
“Ford has found a sweet spot in the half-ton pickup segment, delivering a compelling mix of efficiency and capability, while still delivering an enhanced driving experience that American consumers demand,” said Sean Holman, Truck Trend content editor. It outperformed other models, including the Chevrolet Colorado, the Toyota Tacoma and GMC Sierra.
The F-150 finished 2014 as the best-selling truck in the United States for the 38th consecutive year. The truck is currently being built at a Ford plant in Dearborn, Mich.
Last month, the Chevy Colorado was named Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year.
