Winning streak in sales continues for Ford F-Series trucks
Ford F-Series trucks remained the best-selling vehicle in the United States for the 33rd consecutive year and the best-selling truck for the 38th straight year, the automaker said Monday.
For the year, Ford sold 753,851 F-Series trucks. That was down 1.3 percent from 2013 but still good enough.
The F-150 is built at the Ford Claycomo plant.
Ford also began building the Transit van last year at Claycomo. Total sales for 2014 reached 20,448.
Meanwhile, General Motors’ two vehicles built at its Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kan. reported mixed results.
Sales of the Buick LaCrosse increased 5.5 percent in 2014 to 51,468. However, Chevrolet Malibu sales slipped 6 percent last year to 188,519.
