U.S. Bank on Tuesday announced a $250,000 donation to Truman Medical Centers to help fund its Healthy Harvest Mobile Market program for the next three years.

The grocery store on wheels provides fresh, nutritious food to communities that are considered underserved by grocery stores, primarily on the east side of the Kansas City area.

The mobile market, launched in 2012, serves an average of 100 shoppers a day. Among other things, the program offers a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, provides free meal planning assistance from a registered dietitian and promotes healthy eating with educational materials.
