Mecum car auction held this month in Kansas City airs Christmas night
Kansas City cars hit the airwaves Christmas night with a pay TV broadcast featuring the Mecum Auction Co. event held early this month.
“Mecum Dealmakers” offers a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s auctions. Its Dec. 25 broadcast features the Kansas City event held Dec. 4-6 at the Kansas City Convention Center.
It airs at 9 p.m. on NBCSN, which is Channel 55 on Time Warner Cable and Channel 220 on DirecTV. Featured sales include a 2005 Ford GT that sold for $290,000 and a 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible that sold for $76,000.
The official description of the show says it “tells the story of president and founder Dana Mecum and his son Frank Mecum. The father-son tandem works together to manage the high pressure of the auction floor, where buyers and sellers hope to make the deal of a lifetime, often with hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line.”
