Cosentino’s acquiring two Price Chopper grocery stores

Cosentino’s Food Stores said it has reached an agreement to acquire two Price Chopper grocery stores in Platte City and Ottawa, Kan., from the Bresette family.

The Platte City store, at 2600 Ensign Hill Drive, opened in October 2008.

The Ottawa store was originally a Country Mart store but converted to a Price Chopper in April 2014. A new store that will replace that location is under construction and scheduled to open in late spring of 2016.

Cosentino’s said it expects to complete the acquisition by the end of this year.

When the purchase is completed, Cosentino’s will operate 28 stores under the Price Chopper, Sunfresh, Apple Market and Cosentino’s Market banners.
