St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce wins state recognition

On a busy night for chambers of commerce in Kansas City, the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce received the 2015 Chamber of the Year award Thursday from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The 150-year-old St. Joseph chamber, which has 1,200 members, was cited for strong recent growth — 300 members added in the past year — as well as its leadership role in the Missouri Chamber Federation, a group of chambers in the state.

The St. Joseph organization also was credited for its educational partnerships that created the St. Joseph Workforce Development Alliance.
