Leawood-based AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. and Regal Entertainment Group were sued by a small cinema chain of conspiring to squeeze out its theater in Houston and one planned for Dallas.

IPic-Gold Class Entertainment LLC in its lawsuit filed Tuesday in state court in Houston seeks a court order barring the larger chains from anticompetitive behavior, including demanding film licenses that exclude iPic theaters.

Regal and an AMC unit said in June they were cooperating with demands for information from the U.S. Justice Department in an antitrust investigation related to film distribution.
