Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association honors Seasons 52’s Bart Hickey and US Foods
Bart Hickey, the general manager of Seasons 52, has been named the restaurateur of the year by the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association.
Hickey, who has managed restaurants in the Kansas City area since 1996, will be honored by the organization at a ceremony Jan. 10 at Bartle Hall. The restaurant association will also recognize US Foods as its company of the year.
The association, comprising more than 600 members representing restaurants, caterers, institutions and other food industry groups, singled out Hickey and US Foods for their contributions to the area restaurant and hospitality community.
Hickey began his career in the area with Rio Bravo Cantina and later worked at Pierpont’s at Union Station. He joined Capital Grille in 2001 and in 2005 became the managing partner of the restaurant’s Country Club Plaza location.
In September, Hickey became general manager of Seasons 52, a related Capital Grille restaurant also on the Plaza. He has been a member of the restaurant association’s board since 2007, serving as the group’s president in 2014.
US Foods, one of the nation’s largest food distributors, has 479 employees in its Kansas City division. The company was recognized for its support of the area culinary industry and a variety of special events.
