Missouri Chamber of Commerce to honor Cerner Corp. with ‘Champion of Enterprise’award
The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry will give its 2015 Champion of Enterprise award to Cerner Corp. at the chamber’s annual meeting Nov. 19 in Kansas City.
The award recognizes the health care technology company as a “significant economic force in the state and internationally,” said chamber CEO Daniel Mehan, who noted that 36-year-old Cerner is one of the youngest companies to receive the state chamber’s highest honor.
“Since Cerner was founded in 1979 by Neal Patterson, Cliff Illig and Paul Gorup, it has innovated at the intersection of health care and information technology,” the chamber said in announcing the award.
Past recipients of the award include such Kansas City-based companies as Kansas City Southern, JE Dunn Construction, Burns & McDonnell, Hallmark Cards and Hunt Midwest.
