NIC reports higher quarterly results

NIC Inc. reported a higher revenue and profit for its third quarter compared with a year earlier.

The Olathe-based company, which creates official government websites and offers online payment services, said revenue climbed to $75 million for the three months that ended Sept. 30. Revenue was $69.5 million in the third quarter last year.

Net income in the third quarter climbed to $12.8 million from $10.4 million a year ago.

Through nine months, NIC had revenue of $221.2 million and net income of $33.1 million.
