eBay sellers look to make a buck (or 20) on The Star’s World Series issues

But if you want The Kansas City Star from Nov. 2 (“Royalty”) or Nov. 4 (“A city united”), be ready to pay extra. Those issues are sold out, and The Star won’t be printing more.
Hawkers on eBay know that, and several are asking anywhere from $7.99 to $30 for a single copy of the Nov. 2 issue. One seller offered a set of five Monday papers for $75.
But listings for the Nov. 4 issue capturing the city’s massive rally and celebration were much more rare. One listing Thursday morning asked $20.
The Star does sell single copies of back issues — when they haven’t sold out. They can be ordered here.
And if you’re looking for just a reproduction of the front page, rather than the whole paper, you can skip eBay and order the Nov. 2 page here, and the Nov. 4 page here.
And you won’t have to outbid anyone.
The Star also will be printing a 128-page hardcover book and selling it for $27.95. They’ll start shipping in mid-November and can be ordered here.
