Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce elects new officers
From one Terry to another, the baton is passed for chairmanship of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
Terry Bassham, chief executive of KCP&L, takes the chamber’s top volunteer role from Terry Dunn of D&D Ranch, recently retired from JE Dunn Construction.
The 2016 officer slate, approved at the chamber board’s October meeting, includes Karen Daniel of Black & Veatch as chair elect, Matt Condon of ARC Physical Therapy+ and Bardavon Health Innovations as vice chair and Michael Hagedorn of UMB Bank as treasurer.
Bassham has been heading the chamber’s Urban Neighborhood Initiative committee and its Purpose Built Communities effort that is working to establish a new charter school and mixed-income housing in a part of the center city.
Thirty-two other representatives of area businesses, governments, universities and nonprofits also were elected or re-elected to the chamber board. The incoming and outgoing leadership will be recognized Nov. 19 at the chamber’s annual dinner at the Bartle Hall Convention Center Ballroom.
