KC Life reports a smaller profit
Kansas City Life Insurance Co. on Tuesday said it earned $5.4 million in its third quarter, down from nearly $8 million in the same quarter last year.
The company said the approximately $2.5 million earnings decline stemmed from increased policyholder benefits, including increased death benefits.
Revenue for the quarter was $112.3 million, down from $115.7 million a year earlier.
