McClatchy reports smaller quarterly loss
McClatchy Co. on Tuesday reported a $1.1 million third-quarter net loss, an improvement compared with a net loss of $2.6 million in the same period a year ago.
The Sacramento, Calif.-based company, which owns The Kansas City Star, also reported total revenue of $258.1 million in the quarter, down 7 percent from the third quarter of 2014.
Total advertising revenue fell 10.2 percent to $156.7 million in the quarter that ended Sept. 27.
