‘One in a Million’ contest will rev up in Kansas City

A new entrepreneurial pitch contest sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will narrow the field Nov. 18 at a “One in a Million” competition to be held in connection with Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Fifteen applicants from around the country have been tapped to appear before a panel of business judges. Five will be chosen as finalists to vie for a $10,000 cash prize. Second place will get $5,000 and third place $1,000. All 15 semifinalists will receive access to business education programs and networking opportunities.

The competition, announced in July, was open to entrepreneurs who have presented their startups in previous 1 Million Cups meetings.
