KCI passenger traffic climbed in September

The number of passengers flying in and out of Kansas City International Airport climbed in September compared with a year earlier, the Kansas City Aviation Department reported Wednesday.

Passenger traffic increased 7 percent for the month, with 839,619 travelers arriving and departing at KCI. In addition, passenger boardings at KCI were also up 7 percent for the month, the Aviation Department said.

Through the first nine months of 2014, total passenger traffic was up 2.5 percent at KCI from the same period last year.

The Aviation Department noted that the number of arriving and departing seats available on KCI flights was up 3 percent from September 2013 as airlines added service.
