Hostess may go up for sale early in 2015, sources say
Hostess Brands LLC, the Twinkie maker bought out of bankruptcy last year, may go up for sale early in 2015, sources told Bloomberg News.
The business could fetch as much as $1.6 billion, four times as much as Apollo Global Management and C. Dean Metropolous & Co. paid last year, said one of the people, who asked not to be named because the information is private.
Hostess, headquartered in Kansas City, now has an estimated $200 million in annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. The owners have notified some potential advisers of their plans, and several potential suitors are aware that a sale may be coming, one of the people said.
