Menards plans to open its new Lawrence location next week.
The store, at 1470 W. 31st St., is scheduled to open Tuesday. Hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The family-owned Menards, Eau Clair, Wis., was founded in 1958 and currently has 296 locations in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
The home improvement stores sell a variety of products for the home, including lighting, ceiling fans, plumbing equipment, hardware, lightbulbs, tools, paint, outdoor furniture, appliances, lawn and garden supplies, pet products, and building materials.

At about 200,000 square feet, the new Lawrence store will be one of the chain’s larger format stores with expanded offerings of kitchen cabinets, appliances, millwork and building materials.
The company also plans locations in the metro, including one in the Northland and one in Belton.
