The Kansas City Full Employment Council will receive a federal grant worth $6 million over five years to provide job training in health care careers for qualified low-income residents of Jackson, Cass, Clay and Ray counties.
The grant, channeled through the Missouri Department of Social Services, is to be used for applicants who have income under 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
The program will provide classroom learning, on-the-job training and distance learning opportunities along with help to deal with child care and transportation issues.
