Operator of the Hallmark Channel reports higher quarterly profits
Crown Media Holdings, the cable television company largely owned by Kansas City-based Hallmark Cards Inc., on Friday reported higher third quarter profits and revenue.
The Studio City, Calif.-based company, which operates the Hallmark Channel, said its financial results were bolstered by a 12 percent increase in advertising revenue during the quarter compared with the same period in 2013. Subscription fee revenue increased 1 percent, the company said.
For the three months that ended Sept. 30, Crown Media earned $14.9 million on revenue of $93 million. That compared with net income of $10 million and revenue of $84 million for the third quarter last year.
