Olathe-based NIC reports a quarterly profit increase
NIC Inc., an Olathe-based online government services company, on Thursday reported third quarter gains in earnings and revenue.
The company reported a quarterly profit of $10.4 million, up from $5.1 million for the same period in 2013. The results for the third quarter of 2013 included a noncash, pretax charge of about $5.1 million for the write-off of outstanding accounts receivable.
NIC, which creates government websites to handle business services and payment processing, also reported revenue of $69.5 million for the three months that ended Sept. 30, an increase from $61.3 million for the same period last year.
The company last week declared a special cash dividend of 50 cents per share, payable Nov. 20 to shareholders of record Friday.
