Black & Veatch event to offer electric-vehicle test drives
The public can see and test drive several makes of electric vehicles from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Black & Veatch headquarters, 11401 Lamar Ave., in Overland Park. Automakers including Tesla, BMW, Nissan and Chevrolet will be on hand, along with the Mid-America Electric Auto Association, to answer questions about owning and driving electric vehicles.
Black & Veatch, the area’s largest engineering firm, is playing host to the demonstrations in its south parking lot in conjunction with its signing the Department of Energy’s Workplace Charging Challenge pledge, which encourages workplaces to have vehicle charging stations. Black and Veatch says it’s already a leader in the field with 45 charging stations at its headquarters.
