“Bring in your parents day” set for Thursday
An Opinium Research survey this summer found that a third of U.S. parents don’t understand what their children do for a living. The internet networking site LinkedIn suggests a remedy: “Bring In Your Parents Day.”
The day, set for Nov. 6 this year, is a twist on “Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day.” It aims to helps baby boomer parents learn about the work being done by their millennial offspring.
Conversely, a day on the job with their kids might expose the younger generation to their parents’ experience and knowledge.
Silicon Valley-based LinkedIn said British Airways, Burson-Marsteller, Leo Burnett, Logitech, Virgin, SAP and Wrigley are among companies that signed up to participate this year.
