Epiq Systems reports a revenue increase of 13 percent

Epiq Systems, a legal services technology company, said Tuesday that it lost $2.3 million in the first quarter while operating revenue increased.

The Kansas City, Kan., company said its financial results were affected by an acquisition-related adjustment, loan repricing costs and reorganization expenses.

Epiq earned $3.9 million in the first quarter of 2013.

Total operating revenue climbed to $116.2 million in the quarter, up 13 percent from the same quarter last year.

Epiq provides software and other technology services for electronic discovery, bankruptcy and class action administration.
