Assurant Employee Benefits reports improved financial results
Kansas City-based Assurant Employee Benefits, a unit of Assurant Inc., said its net operating income more than doubled in the third quarter to $13.1 million, compared with $6.1 million in the same period last year.
The specialty insurance and employee benefits company, a major employer in the Kansas City area, also said its net earned premiums, fees and other revenue increased 5 percent to $270 million in the quarter from 2013’s third quarter.
