Logistics company will open Kansas City office
XPO Logistics, a transportation logistics company, will open a freight brokerage office in Kansas City that could provide up to 125 new jobs, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said Thursday.
The company said it plans to invest $1.2 million in the office building at 215 W. Pershing Rd. It will be the first Missouri location among 200 XPO sites in the United States and Canada.
If XPO meets its expected capital expenditure and hiring goals it will be eligible for about $700,000 in Missouri Works incentives through the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
Troy Cooper, XPO’s chief operating officer, said the company is “actively recruiting from the large pool of talent in the Kansas City area.” Interested persons may look for applications online at the company’s website, http://jobs.xpologistics.com/.
The company said it provides a “truckload and less-than-truckload brokerage, last mile logistics, intermodal services, ground/air expedited transportation, technology-enabled contract logistics, freight forwarding and managed transportation to more than 14,000 customers.”
