2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV Gallery: Monster AMG in Pictures
Mercedes-AMG has just unveiled the Porsche Taycan's worst nightmare. The new AMG GT 4-Door is an outrageously powerful EV with seating for four, more drive programs than most will know what to do with, and artificial V8 noises pumped into the cabin. As impressive as a performance car as it is an an EV, it's also got one of the most evocatively styled exteriors of any recent Mercedes. Here's a close-up look at this impressive machine from every angle.

The new face is one of the most arresting angles. The deep grille features illuminated vertical lines and isn't far removed from the previous AMG GT, but everything else-including the headlights with star-shaped lighting motifs-is. The main headlight clusters are linked by a full-width bar, much like the design applied to the latest CLA, although the AMG GT is far more aggressive.

The gaping grille area looks quite different when not illuminated, contrasting dramatically with the vivid yellow of this particular model.

The side profile is the least contentious. It looks low, long, and sporty, and that's not just an illusion; this car is five inches longer than a Porsche Taycan.

The rear design marks a complete departure from the previous model, with a trio of rounded taillights on either side in a large, black insert that dominates this angle.

In GT 63 form, the new AMG GT 4-Door is a beast. Three axial flux motors develop up to 1,153 horsepower and 1,475 lb-ft of torque, which gets this EV from zero to 60 in just two seconds. A GT 55 with 805 hp will also be available. There's also a new AMGFORCE Sport+ drive mode that unleashes a simulated AMG V8 racket to accompany the dramatic rate of acceleration.

As in other new Mercs, a trio of screens dominate the dashboard. The AMG GT 4-Door gets a 10.2-inch driver's display, a 14-inch center touchscreen angled towards the driver, and another 14-inch touchscreen for the passenger. The angled center screen creates a more driver-focused feel than in other Mercedes models.

Bright ambient lighting elevates the atmosphere, as do glossy carbon fiber inserts and grippy microfiber suede inserts on the steering wheel.

Seven drive modes and nine traction settings allow extensive customization of the driving experience, much of which can be easily controlled via three rotary dials on the center console.

A panoramic roof with Sky Control illumination is available, which can match the color settings of the rest of the interior. By the way, this AMG can seat four people comfortably.

Pricing is unknown, but the dizzying array of tech and mind-bending performance of the new AMG means it's likely to start in the vicinity of $150,000 when it goes on sale later in 2026. The GT 63 will be even more expensive and this variant arrives in 2027.
