Registered nurses will rally Thursday evening at Research Medical Center
Registered nurses at Research Medical Center in Kansas City are in contract negotiations with the hospital in talks that will continue this month.
The 610 nurses, affiliated with the National Nurses Organizing Committee, have been working with an expired contract since May 31.
The union is focusing on what it says are inadequate staffing levels and wages at Research, much like it did last month at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park. The hospital responded that it is “always focused on staffing appropriately to meet our patients’ needs.”
The National Nurses Organizing Committee has set a rally and informational picket for Thursday evening in front of Research at 2316 E. Meyer Blvd. The hospital said in a statement that the activity won’t interfere with patient care or safety.
