Huge sewer project moves ahead in the Northland

A ceremonial ribbon cutting Monday morning recognized a crucial step toward developing the planned Twin Creeks area in Kansas City north of the Missouri River.

The event marked completion of Kansas City’s $40 million sewer project, an essential step toward opening the area for development.

The event was staged at Benton House at Tiffany Springs, an $8.5 million senior living facility developed by Hunt Midwest, which is the first commercial business connected to the new sewer system.

Hunt Midwest owns 300 acres in the Twin Creeks area and is beginning work on a residential community, Park Place North. Plans call for 514 single-family homes, 144 townhouses and 308 row houses, neighborhood pools, parks and walking trails and 26 acres of neighborhood commercial and retail.
