ArtsKC Fund raises $519,000 in annual campaign
The ArtsKC Regional Arts Council has announced that the 2015 ArtsKC Fund Campaign raised $519,000, the agency’s largest campaign total since 2008.
The annual giving campaign, which seeks donations from individuals, foundations and corporations, raised 43 percent more than last year. This year’s philanthropy brings to $4.1 million the cumulative amount raised since the campaign was founded in 2007.
Over the years, the fundraising has been channeled in more than 600 grants to local arts organizations, programs, visual artists and performers.
Campaign organizers said a key element of this year’s campaign was a $50,000 allocation from the city of Kansas City.
Lydia Zacharias, ArtsKC Fund manager, said it also was important to acknowledge “the employee campaign managers, volunteer leaders and donors who make this possible” through workplace-based giving campaigns.
The agency has set a goal of $550,000 for the 2016 ArtsKC Fund Campaign.
