The Kansas City Star is looking for interns to work in its newsroom in the spring and summer.

The paid journalism positions will include breaking news coverage, local government and state legislative reporting, and audience engagement.

Many of The Star’s current newsroom team members started at the company as interns. The Star is proud to continue the tradition by selecting more top student journalists this year.

Candidates should be college juniors, seniors or recent graduates. They should be able to spot a good story and report it using multiple formats. Video and social media skills are a plus.

Those who are interested can apply online.

Internships also are available at other McClatchy news organizations besides The Star.
