Call center will add 333 jobs in Lawrence
USA800, a contact center with headquarters in Kansas City, said Thursday it will open a 20,000-square-foot facility in Lawrence in the I70 Business Center.
The company expects to create 333 jobs with its $3.5 million investment.
“As a result of existing customer growth and several large new contracts starting this fall, USA800 is expanding its infrastructure with a new contact center,” Tom Davis, USA 800 president and chief executive, said in a news release.
The company said it evaluated “multiple Midwest markets” before choosing the Lawrence site. Davis also cited the city’s “quality talent pool” as a motivating factor.
The Kansas City Area Development Council worked with The Chamber of Lawrence, Kansas; the Economic Development Corporation of Lawrence & Douglas County; the Kansas Department of Commerce; Westar Energy; Newmark Grubb Zimmer and Workforce Partnership to recruit the company.
USA800 is the largest 100 percent employee-owned call center in the nation. It supports Web chat, e-mail, inbound, outbound and other customer support activities.
