The Kansas City Star is looking for reporting interns for spring and summer internships.

The program includes 10 positions covering a wide variety of responsibilities, from breaking news to sports and business, as well as audience engagement and multiplatform editing.

Candidates should be college juniors, seniors or recent graduates. The interns will work 40 hours a week, including occasional nights and weekends.

We’re looking for reporters who can spot a good story and know how to write it. Video and social media skills also are a must. Past newsroom internship experience preferred.

Many current Star newsroom staff members started at the company as interns, and we’re proud to continue the tradition by welcoming more top students this year.

Those interested can apply online at mcclatchy.com/careers. Internships across the McClatchy company are also available. Apply by Oct. 31 for first consideration.
