Network design company NetPMD Solutions will bring its headquarters to Kansas City, creating more than 100 technical and corporate jobs.

The company, which designs the fiber infrastructure that brings broadband to residents, businesses and other clients, will locate on the Kansas side of the metro. The company is in the process of selecting a site.

“Our projects span across the U.S., so being based in the Midwest provides easy access to our customers,” said David Seematter, CEO of NetPMD Solutions. “In addition, the favorable business economics and deep well of talent to draw from in KC will further our growth.”

The news was to be announced Friday at the Kansas City Area Development Council’s annual meeting.

The company considered the Kansas City region’s telecommunications infrastructure, central location, workforce and tax and utility costs before selecting it as its headquarters, according to a press from the Area Development Council.

“We were looking for the confluence of talent in the region, the ability to recruit there, the work ethic and the economic convenience,” Seematter said.

The company, which has an office in Arizona, is hiring staff for more than 100 technical and corporate positions, including office managers, engineers, designers and project managers.

Most positions will pay at or above county averages and will have a hybrid work model, according to Seematter.

Gov. Laura Kelly lauded the news.

“We’ll continue leveraging our central location, pro-business environment, and top-tier workforce to recruit new jobs, companies, and families to our state,” she said in the news release.
