Kansas, Missouri middle of pack in business climate survey

Kansas and Missouri ranked in the middle of the pack in a nationwide survey that measured business climate.

Kansas was 24th and Missouri, 26th, according to the survey of all 50 states, by the CNBC television network.

States receive points based on their rankings in more than 60 measures of competitiveness. Those metrics were then separated into 10 broad categories, weighted based on how frequently each is used as a selling point in state economic development marketing materials. The categories included education, cost of doin gbusiness, access to capital and workforce preparedness.

Minnesota had the best climate for business, followed by Texas, Utah, Colorado and Georgia.
