Skilled trades plan Kansas City outreach

A collection of Kansas City area labor unions, city departments and labor groups will hold a “Skilled Trades Community Outreach Forum” on Oct. 25.

The event, planned from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Southeast Community Center gymnasium, 4201 E. 63rd St., will have exhibits and representatives gathered to expose area residents to potential careers in the skilled trades.

Sponsors said presenters include the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus of Greater Kansas City IBEW 124, NAACP of Kansas City, Kansas City Building Trades, Kansas City Power & Light, Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department, Full Employment Council, Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, and Kansas City Labor Council.
