Waddell & Reed to honor JJ’s restaurant at special ceremony Thursday
Waddell & Reed Financial Inc. will formally open its Country Club Plaza-area office Thursday with a ceremony that will also welcome back its future neighbor, JJ’s restaurant.
The Overland Park-based mutual fund company’s new office is on the first floor of the nine-story Plaza Vista building at 900 W. 48th Place. About 15 financial advisers along with support staff will work in that office.
At the special event, artist Mike Savage will complete a painting commissioned by the investment firm that will be the first original artwork hung in the new JJ’s. The restaurant will be opening soon on the first floor of the Plaza Vista building.
The original restaurant location — across the street from the office tower — was destroyed by an explosion and fire in February 2013.
