Ferrellgas reports higher annual revenues, smaller profit
Ferrellgas Partners L.P. on Monday reported higher revenues, but a small profit for its fiscal year that ended July 31.
The Overland Park-based propane company said revenues climbed to $2.4 billion, up from about $2 billion for fiscal 2013. However, net earnings declined to $33.7 million from $57.2 million, partly because of a loss from a debt refinancing.
Ferrellgas said propane sales volume for the year grew 5 percent to 946.6 million gallons, thanks to colder-than-normal temperatures. The company, through its Ferrellgas L.P. operating partnership, serves customers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
For the fourth quarter, Ferrellgas reported $399 million in revenue and a net loss of $48.2 million.
