U-Haul ranks KC as 9th best destination city
More people may be putting down stakes in the Kansas City area, a new U-Haul International Inc. survey shows.
The truck rental company said the Kansas City area was the ninth most-popular destination in its annual migration trends report for 2014. That’s up one spot from the previous year.
The ranking is based on one-way truck rental traffic.
However, don’t read too much into the rankings in terms of population trends. U-Haul declined to make public any specific customer information. Still, U-Haul said its survey is a “strong gauge as to how well cities are attracting new residents.”
Kansas City ranked ahead of Sacramento, Calif., and behind Philadelphia. U-Haul said the full list of the top 10 markets won’t be available until June 4.
