Black & Veatch looks to the future with headquarters expansion

Black & Veatch on Tuesday will formally open the Rodman Innovation Pavilion, which is part of a $60 million renovation and expansion of the engineering firm’s Overland Park headquarters at 11401 Lamar Ave.

The pavilion, honoring former chief executive Len Rodman, has a grass roof and includes other renewable energy features such as solar panels, and a geothermal field for cooling the building.

Inside the pavilion, there is an 80-inch interactive touch panel display that highlights the company’s global operations and projects.

The company has more than 10,000 employees in more than 100 offices worldwide.

Kansas. Gov. Sam Brownback and other state and local officials are expected to attend Black & Veatch’s dedication ceremony.
