American Century hires Cleo Chang to head alternative investments group

American Century Investments has hired a senior money manager to head its alternative investments area.

Cleo Chang has become senior vice president at the Kansas City-based mutual fund group. She starts in the new post Monday. Chang previously had been chief investment officer of Wilshire Funds Management.

American Century said Chang is the latest addition to the team as the company prepares to offer a number of alternative investment products. In March, it hired Sandra Testani to become director of product management, focusing on alternative strategies, and Brian Schappert to become a vice president in sales focused on alternative investment products.
