Longtime KC-based mechanical contractor Foley Co. is acquired

Foley Co., a 102-year-old Kansas City-based mechanical contractor, has been acquired by Enerfab Power & Industrial Inc. of Cincinnati for an undisclosed price.

Enerfab said Foley will keep its name, and its offices here and in Nashville, Tenn., are expected to remain open. Foley has about 250 employees.

Foley was started in 1913 by George Foley as Foley Heating & Plumbing. The company has been owned by Otter Tail Corp., a Minnesota-based energy company, since 2003.

Foley, headquartered at 7501 E. Front St., is considered one of the top 100 specialty contractors and top 500 mechanical contractors in the country, Enerfab said in a news release. It serves customers in water and wastewater services and the power, industrial, commercial and health care industries.

Enerfab is a privately owned construction, electrical and maintenance services company that works primarily in the energy and chemical industries. It has about 4,000 employees nationwide.
