Overland Park-based FishNet Security, which recently merged with Accuvant, another cybersecurity provider, will be named Optiv Security beginning this summer.

The new Optiv Security headquarters will be in Denver, the companies announced Tuesday.

The new name was selected to convey the “active” and “operative” nature of the work and was chosen after a review of 1,200 possibilities, according to an announcement Tuesday at an industry conference in San Francisco.

According to the report, the Overland Park offices of FishNet, on the Sprint campus in Overland Park, will continue to be Optiv Security’s executive briefing center, where it showcases the company’s capabilities to corporate clients. The Overland Park office also will continue to be the company’s security operations center.

The combined company has 60 office locations, training centers and security operations centers and employs about 1,500 in the United States and Canada.
