Sprint Corp. chief executive Marcelo Claure has added a lasting tie to the Kansas City area. The birth of his daughter Friday morning.
Claure, who moved here last summer to take the helm of Sprint, posted a baby picture on Twitter to announce her arrival.
Savannah Celeste Claure was “Made in Rio and born in Kansas City this morning,” Claure wrote. “Dad again.”

Savannah’s birth announcement is not Claure’s first socially shared family moment with his 63,699 Twitter followers.
On Valentine’s day, he tweeted a photo of himself, Jordan and others at a breakfast table. “One of the biggest joy of life. Breakfast with all my kids and my wife in NYC to celebrate Valentine’s.”
That tweet evoked one seemingly playful response from Jordan.
“@marceloclaure you aren’t allowed to post family pics without our approval anymore #bedheads” is what she wrote.
